The expansion of our work and a vacancy, has created the opportunity to recruit two Research and Project Officer posts. These posts are central to the delivery of CfGS’s existing and future commitments – helping us to support our public and private sector clients and to research matters of national importance on accountability and governance.

You would be joining at an exciting and challenging time. Governance change is needed more than ever and there is significant pressure on organisations, in all sectors, to operate more ethically and transparently. CfGS must lead and be central this debate.

Crucial to success in this role is an ability to think independently, be confident in carrying out robust research, be flexible and able to work under pressure and have excellent interpersonal skills to engage at a senior level with our wide range of partners and clients. Alongside a passion for all things governance, democracy and involvement.

These posts are designed to provide a strong developmental focus for the successful applicant. We are looking for people with the potential to enhance and grow their skills base – as such, a proactive attitude and an interest in and understanding of the arena in which we operate is crucial. The successful applicants will have the opportunity to work across a range of projects – from large-scale research leading to authorship credit on national publications, to project delivery support for high-support clients, to support in the planning and delivery of events.

The successful applicants will have some experience working in a professional / office environment, and ideally will have specific experience in corporate governance (for example, by having worked as a local authority democratic services officer or in a similar type of position or team in a public, private or voluntary sector organisation).
