Health and social care masterclass

This interactive one-day workshop will help officers and members with a good existing understanding of the health care system to gain greater insights about the latest developments from the Department of Health, NHS and Public Health England with an emphasis on how local authorities can respond to planned changes.  

Through participation in this session delegates will:

  • An in depth understanding of how to health scrutiny powers to build effective relationships with commissioners and providers;
  • Understanding of the ongoing pressures facing health and social care and how scrutiny can best respond;
  • examine the development of Sustainability and Transformation Plans and how to plan local responses;
  • Explore real-time data to consider how scrutiny can tackle health inequalities.

The purpose of session is to develop knowledge and understanding of how health scrutiny powers can be used most effectively to safeguard the well-being of local people.
