February 27 @ 9:30 am - 10:45 pm

This session, supported by the Local Government Association, aims to provide elected scrutiny members and the officers who support them with the tools to understand and act upon lessons derived from corporate complaints.

It will cover:

  • Insights provided by the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman (LGSCO) through their reports, including an exploration of how these insights can inform and enhance the scrutiny process.
  • Mechanisms for extracting actionable lessons from corporate complaints highlighted internally, by the Ombudsman and by other sources;
  • Mechanisms for using these insights to drive effective scrutiny work, including how scrutiny can hold the council to account for its action on complaints.
