Work programming webinar – making scrutiny more effective

July 19, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Do you want share your thoughts on how to make scrutiny more effective? Do you want to learn more about how scrutiny can focus on the right things, at the right time, in the right way?

On Monday 19th July from 11am – 12:30pm CfGS is hosting a free webinar on work programming – covering everything you need to ensure that your plan for scrutiny’s priorities in 2021 and beyond stands the best chance of delivering change for local people.

We’ll cover how access to and use of information can help you to make the right choices, how councillors’ political instincts provide a vital way of sifting through options, and how those all-important, tough choices can be made about what does and doesn’t go on the agenda.

We’ll also provide opportunities to talk about notable practice in councils across England and Wales – as well as providing the opportunity to share experiences from your own council in a supportive environment.

Reflecting on your current approach to work programming, and the topics you’ve chosen for this year, will help to ensure that your approach in the future is as robust as it can be.

Space is limited; the session will take place via Zoom and is open to councillors and officers. We advise signing up immediately to avoid disappointment.
