Graeme has worked in the events sector for over 20 years, organising international conferences and trade shows around the globe. He has held senior roles with responsibility for the planning, oversight and delivery of a number of major global events, with a particular focus on new launches, emerging markets and the energy sector. For the last 6 years he has acted a consultant, giving strategic direction and bringing about organisational change and development to a number of leading event organisers. He is a director of Bai Tu Media Limited.
Graeme is the LGA nominee to the Board. He has been an elected member of Bedford Borough Council since 2011, representing Wilshamstead ward and is currently Leader of the Conservative Group. He is also Chair of the Health Overview & Scrutiny Committee and Vice Chair of the Environment Overview & Scrutiny Committee. Additionally, he sits on the Local Outbreak Engagement Board for Bedford, looking at the Borough’s response to the COVID pandemic, as well as attending the Wixams Station Project Board which is overseeing the delivery of a new station on the Midland Mainline between Bedford and London St Pancras.
He was previously a Councillor at the London Borough of Greenwich from 2006-2010 and at Birmingham City Council from 1992-96.
Graeme has a degree in Business Administration & Government from the University of Aston.
