Senior Governance Consultant: secondment/fixed term contract

Posted on 06/05/2022 by Ed Hammond.

The Centre for Governance and Scrutiny is looking for an experienced governance professional to join the team, on secondment or a fixed term contract, for six months – on either a full time or part time basis.

This is an exciting time to be working at CfGS. As well as being at the centre of governance improvement in the local government sector we are also active in other areas – health and care, social housing, and police and fire.

We want to employ a Senior Governance Consultant to give us the capacity and resilience to continue to deliver high quality projects across our work programme – but particularly in the local government sector, around the operation of councils’ overview and scrutiny arrangements.

If you are interested, please e-mail info@cfgs.org.uk, with a brief CV and a covering statement setting out how you consider you would be able to succeed in this role, making reference to the job’s person specification.

Because we are offering this post with a view to secondment, the rate of pay we propose to offer will be aligned to your salary in your substantive role (or your most recent substantive role, in the case of applicants for a fixed term contract).

Even if your organisation has a current moratorium on external secondments, please get in touch if you are, in principle, interested as we are prepared to demonstrate vigorously why this would be a development opportunity for the postholder as well as bringing significant benefits to your substantive employer.

The closing date for applications is 20 May with interviews taking place remotely w/c 23 May.
