Su Turner

As Director for Children and Young People, Su led CfGS’ projects and policy development relating to children’s safeguarding, school improvement and public involvement.  

Su left CfGS in April 2017. 

Su has a wealth of experience in supporting councillors and officers in local children’s system to effectively deliver their scrutiny and governance roles. Su ran programmes to promote and support councillors as corporate parents and assist them to navigate the complex world of school improvement. Su’s work spanned working in schools to develop better whole school accountability using a model created during her own school improvement journey. She regularly spoke for us on national platforms on school accountability. 

Su also led on CfGS’ innovative ‘London Patient Voice’ initiative, on behalf of NHS London, and led CfGS’ work on health inequalities and health reform for the Department of Health. She developed CfGS’ creative Stakeholder Engagement tool and was responsible for designing a Return on Investment model which demonstrates how scrutiny work can impact outcomes. She is an experienced Chair of Governors, qualified Executive Coach and Mentor and a skilled Appreciative Inquiry Facilitator.
