Busy and exciting times ahead for CfGS

As I begin my second day in the role of Chief Executive at CfGS, I look forward to busy and exciting times ahead.

During a period when organisations across all sectors are attempting to deal with unprecedented levels of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity – along with pressure to operate more ethically and transparently – good governance is, arguably, more relevant, important and challenging than ever.

Within that context, it’s a hugely exciting time to join an organisation that exists to support improvement in all aspects of governance and scrutiny and has such a strong track record of doing so.

That being the case, it’s not surprising that CfGS currently has a very healthy ‘order book’ and I’ll be working hard over the next few months, with an excellent team, to ensure we successfully deliver our existing work programme.

Looking to the future, we have strong aspirations to expand our offer and grow the business.  Of course, this is partly because we want to ensure its long-term commercial success but, more importantly, because it will increase our turnover (the amount of work we do) and, as a result, the positive impact that CfGS is having – something that is really important to a charity operating as a social purpose consultancy, rather than an organisation focused purely on maximising profit.

So, there are, indeed, busy and exciting times ahead for me and my colleagues at CfGS and I’ll look forward to sharing highlights of our journey in future contributions to this series of blog posts.
