We are excited to announce we are opening early-bird ticket sales for the CfGS Annual Conference 2027: People, Places, Lives.

This one-day event – packed with discussions, learning, and hands-on activities – will explore what it takes to govern with purpose when the ground is shifting beneath us:

• How we seize the opportunities that change creates
• Hold on to rigour without losing relationships…
• And build institutions that can adapt without losing their democratic purpose

But we won’t spend the day admiring the problems. Through provocative conversations, practical workshops and shared problem-solving, we’ll put real challenges and opportunities on the table and work on them together.

One theme will be governance risk and resilience. We’ll be launching the 2027 Governance Risk and Resilience Framework through an innovative deliberative process: creating space for people to examine the real challenges facing their places, test different perspectives and work together on what stronger, more resilient governance looks like in practice.
