The role of Chair is pivotal in ensuring scrutiny has an impact.

This course is not only about how to run a meeting – it is a course about how to be an effective scrutiny leader, an advocate for transparency and inclusion in your authority and working effectively with the executive. All of which will give scrutiny a higher profile and improve the lives of local people. Drawing on CfGS research and expert facilitation, delegates will learn the best way to approach scrutiny leadership, work programming and preparing for meetings. The course will help Chairs to get the most from their fellow members and their officer support. This a new course and is being delivered in response to feedback from members who want to take their Scrutiny Chairing skills to the next level.

Places cost £195 + VAT per person for Local Authority delegates and £225 + VAT per person for commercial sector delegates.
