This year, the Centre for Governance and Scrutiny (CfGS) Annual Survey of Overview and Scrutiny in Local Government has been conducted as local authorities continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

As in previous years, we ask  questions largely focused on developing a greater understanding of what makes scrutiny “effective”.
