CfGS Annual Conference – date change – now Wednesday 1 December 2021! The annual conference is the highlight of our year, when we look forward to bringing together scrutiny members, officers and partner colleagues to network, hear brilliant speakers and share excellent scrutiny practice. We have been considering the potential impact of reduced attendance numbers on the conference experience due to continued social distancing, travel concerns, etc. and the uncertainty of further disruption. Resilience in Local Government As the new decade unfolds and we reflect on the past 10 years in local government, it is timely to review the current position of local government and its ability to respond to austerity, uncertainty and how well it is prepared for future threats and opportunities.
