Anita is a Senior Governance Consultant with extensive experience in local government governance, scrutiny and democratic services, gained across both district and unitary authorities.
Before joining CfGS, Anita held senior leadership roles in local government, including serving as a Monitoring Officer and leading a broad portfolio encompassing democratic services and elections, internal audit, risk management and procurement. She has extensive experience advising senior officers and elected members on complex and politically sensitive governance issues.
Anita has particular expertise in constitutional governance, decision-making, scrutiny and governance change. Her experience includes leading democratic services through significant changes to governance arrangements, as well as supporting improvements to organisational assurance and decision-making.
Earlier in her career, Anita worked in local government scrutiny and gained experience in corporate governance within a major infrastructure-focused Non-Departmental Public Body.
Anita holds the CIPFA Certificate in Corporate Governance with Distinction and is currently completing a Level 7 Strategic Leadership apprenticeship.
